European Cloud conference: European Cloud: Vision or Fiction?, 27 January 2015, Brussels, Belgium
The European Cloud conference, organized by the European Security Round table took place on 27th January 2015 at the NH Grand Place Arenberg in Brussels, Belgium.
The conference focused on how access to cloud services in Europe is still hampered by a number of uncertainties and challenges, which vary from use case to use case. Depending on the type of data, type of service, and need for control, adoption of the cloud may be impeded by legal, technical, operational or economic barriers.
This was the first time that AFCEA Europe and the European Security Round Table (eSRT) ran jointly and in cooperation with the European Commission Directorate General CNECT an event on “Cloud 4 Europe”, a highly topical theme that will affect all of us and will dominate the IT-related public discussions and will so for sure also influence the debates and decision making processes of the European institutions over the next years.
Daniele Catteddu, Managing Director EMEA, Cloud Security Alliance & PICSE partner, took part to the panel session "Economic Advantages and Best Practice examples" discussing opportunities for cloud initiatives in Europe, national best practices and how can we leverage them for a European cloud market.
Daniele has provided the audience with an overview of the PICSE projet and early achievements.
