First results of Cloud for Europe PCP tender
A total of 29 economic operators from 11 countries (Italy, Austria, Estonia, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom – with some representing multinational corporations) submitted bids to the Cloud for Europe PCP tender.
A variety of economic operators are involved: 45% represent SMEs, 24% large companies and 31% public research bodies.
The most offers – 13 in total – were submitted to lot 1 (federated certified service brokerage), followed by 7 offers to lot 2 (secure legislation-aware storage) and 4 offers to lot 3 (legislation execution).
The tender opening session took place on 24-27 March in Rome.
As the next step, the Administrative Evaluation Committee will perform a selection of offers on the basis of exclusion and selection criteria. After this is done, the Technical Evaluation Committee will evaluate the offers based on the award criteria. The evaluation process is planned to take some two months. Therefore, the signing of the Framework Agreements by successful bidders would take place in June 2015. We will keep you informed about the results of the evaluation.
The initial timeframe for the three implementation phases is as follows:
- Phase I (solution design): June – August 2015
- Phase II (prototype development): October 2015 – April 2016
- Phase III (development of first products or services in the form of a test series): June 2016 – October 2016
